We are expats retired in Mexico and for the past 4 yrs have been going to the Rincon de Guayabitos twice a year for 12 days each time. During our stay, we eat at least 2 times at Salvador's as they are located right on the beach where the view is wonderful and the evenings sunsets are very romantic. Their locale is spotless, there is a pleasant atmosphere at all times, they play great local & international music during the day and evenings, the Service is very friendly & excellent, there is ample seating both inside the restaurant and out in front on the beach, the Food is delicious, the portions are very generous, they have a good selection of both Red & White wines and the owner makes sure that their patrons are comfortable and are satisfied with everything. Amongst the many & great selection of dishes offered, we enjoyed their Jumbo Prawns, the Coconut Shrimp, the Dorado (Mahi-Mahi) in garlic sauce, their prices are very affordable and reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit on the beach.

Salvador's is almost as big a Rider fan as we are.

We took our 6 grown children (17-30) to Rincon de Guayabitos for Christmas last year and loved it all but a highlight was definitely dinner on the beach at Salvador's. We soon found out that he shared our love of the Saskatchewan Roughrider football team and our disappointment at their narrow loss in the 2009 Grey Cup. He took photos of our family with all his green and white memorabilia, which was fun. But -more importantly (even than football) was the food, which was amazing and less expensive than one would expect. Our sons ordered a seafood platter and when it came loaded with every kind of delectable seafood (and strangely marshmallows on little toothpicks), we were delighted to see that the chef had cut out the letters to spell "SASKATCHEWAN" out of carrots as an embellishment. Now how is that for attention to customer detail! We had a terrific evening in a most beautiful surreal setting, wonderful food, amazingly wonderful service and so much love and laughter. I am very grateful to Salvador and the staff for this very special evening and add my voice to the many others saying this is not a restaurant to miss when visiting this region!

We have gone to Guayabitos every quarter this last year and never miss Salvadors for various meals, snacks or cold beers throughout the vacation. It does not matter if it is Mexican scrambled eggs in the morning or guacamole and 2-4-1 cervesa @ lunch or all you can eat large shrimp for supper they always continue to serve up a great meal at the best spot on the beach !
See you soon Salvador MI AMIGO !

Salvador and his brothers

I know Salvador is reading this so I want to say hello to him and his great family. We stayed at the Decameron Los Cocos between March 26th and April 9th. We met Salvador on the beach with his brother. They are hard working people. You don't have to go or call to make reservations. Salvador introduces himself and takes reservations right off your chair. He is friendly. I knew about this restaurant so we made reservations. We were 4 and we don't eat shrimps; I do but 3 or 4 is enough. I told Salvador that we were mostly meat lovers. Even though it is not on the menu, he ordered New York steaks just for us. The best steak I've ever had. We went back the next week. If you haven't been to Salvador's, you haven't been to Guayabitos. The best family, the best food, the best atmosphere......

My wife and i spent 2 months in Rincon at la Mision and got to know Salvador and his family very well. What a dear and wonderful family and to top it off they have some of the best food and service in Rincon. We went to their Valentines Night up on the highway and had a wonderful time. We are already looking toward next year. Errol and Charlie from Alberta.

“A "Bucket List" must do!”

I'm serious! If you want to experience the ambience of Mexico and a great Mexican family restaurant, Salvador’s is the place to be. I went searching for Salvador’s on my first trip to Guayabitos. I kept telling my wife and teenage daughter about this place I found on Trip Advisor. Sure enough after a few minutes walk down the gorgeous beach we came upon Salvador’s. Low and behold just like I had read out comes young Salvador. Within minutes someone we had never met seemed like a long time friend. Every day of our vacation we talked to Salvador on the beach with his younger brother Antonio (He prefers Tony) My daughter even got Spanish lessons from Salvador.

Oh before I forget. THE SHRIMP ALL YOU CAN EAT IS AWESOME. The atmosphere, the setting on the balcony , the service......what more can I say but put this wonderful experience on your "Bucket List" Hello to Salvador and Tony

SALVADOR CAN DANCE!

Salvador's is the best! The family is the greatest and young Salvador is the most kind hearted person you could ever hope to meet. He is always helping someone. I was there this year for the month of February, and during Lent week he advised us to be careful and not carry purses as there were people that came into town who were of the not so nice kind. It rang true as someone was mugged for their purse.
I caught a very large Dorado, and the others on the boat caught a smaller one and also a Boneto. I took them into Salvador and we went for dinner and he had them prepared beautifully on a platter that was all decorated with fruit etc. The other patrons were all oohing and awing at what a beautiful dish it was.
Salvador's ribs are fantastic and so are the drinks.
Rick & Maureen are a couple that come every year and stay next door as do I and they play at Salvador's while they are there. Rick plays guitar, (very well) and his wife Maureen sings (very beautifully). These were some of my best times. I love going there and seeing the same people every year.
Try it ....You will love it!!

The location of the restaurant is so romantic for couples yet an awesome hang out place for just girls, the night we went there was a live band who were also awesome. We went for all you can eat shrimp which was super scrumptious and the staff are very accommodating, for my friend who was allergic to coconut they made a special dish just for her to ensure there was no cross contamination of coconut. The staff are friendly and so hard working. The best part is they will provide safe transportation back to your home to ensure that you get home safely! Couldn't say anything better than this place. Had such an amazing evening there!

We stayed in a small town called La Penita about ten minutes away by taxi but continued to come to Salvador's in Rincon for the people and the food. At all times of day, whether for a snack of two for one beer and guacamole or a dinner of strawberry margarita and coconut shrimp its great food and an amazing staff of kind people who really take care of you the minute you arrive. Right on the beach, it serves for a great view and has some live entertainment some nights too. The waiters are dear friends of ours and we miss them very much! Thanks to Salvador's for an amazing trip with great friends and great food!
